Burdett was 6 mos. old and still wearing newborn clothes. We couldn't understand why he wasn't gaining weight and kept having projectile vomiting. Shortly after this picture we were referred to a pediatric specialist who discovered he needed medicine to calm his stomach so that the food would stay down. After that he gained weight like a champ and was fine. |

1st Christmas December 25, 1987, 9 mos. old. First picture with Santa. He was happy until he felt Santa's beard and turned around to see what it was and let out a war whoop! That ended the picture taking for that day! Sure glad he didn't get so upset he never wanted to sit on Santa's lap again. |

He was in the soccer league this summer. He wanted to kick the ball so bad that when he did and the kids would run after it he would fall down and lay there. First time that happened, his coach thought he was hurt and ran over to him. When it was discovered that he was fine, everytime after that, his coach would tell him to get up and run after the ball. We laughed about that so much! Lisa video taped his first game and we got a real 'kick' out of watching him fall down....What a ham!! |

This is one of my most cherished pictures of Burdett. He had the most beautiful smile. It just lit up his whole face! Shortly after this picture was taken, Burdett was in a fatal car accident. One of his best friends, Mike Long, was driving the car when a panel truck pulled out in front of them and Mike died at the scene. We have named a star for both Burdett and Mike. They can be seen in the constellation Orion. We named Burdett's star 'Burdman' as that was his nickname. Burdett and Mike are together again in heaven and in the stars. |

October 2004. This is an article written for the Warsaw Community High School paper a few days after Burdett passed away. I just loved this picture of him. It showed his beautiful smile, and the way his whole face lit up every time he smiled. The transcript of this article is located in His Legacy page of this website. |
